I had my troubles with SSS, too. I watched in chunks, kinda, because several times I came to a point where I was asking myself if I should continue or not. In the end I finished the whole thing and don't regret it, and there were a lot of enjoyable things and pretty CGI, but it was still kinda - pointless? In a way? Seeing as it's only season one, and we get no final resolution for the story.

That said, other plot lines actually do get resolved, and it was at least entertaining enough that I kept watching.
